Lai Fuang is the name of a traditional Thai decorative motif. Its design resembles garlands of flowers strung horizontally, forming gentle downward curves—similar to a festoon or swag—spaced evenly along the line. From these curves hang alternating tassels or pendants, creating what is known as “Fuang Uba Pattern” (lại Fuang Uba). The Fuang pattern belongs to the family of floral motifs. It is created by stylizing flowers and foliage into an ornamental design intended for hanging or draping along the front edge of architectural panels or decorative borders.
